Temple Trip

This week has flown by but so has every one of late.

June 20, 2017: We did service for an older couple in the branch which was fun. Aside from that we did not do too much of interest.

Spiritual: Service is always fun.

June 21, 2017: We did not do too much as Elder S

was at a spiritual low so he needed to do a bunch of studies as he rarely does have time for an hour of personal Study. 

Spiritual: Daily study of the scriptures brings blessings into your life.

June 22, 2017: We had our first district meeting in Longmont which took up a decent portion of the day between the meeting and the drive so we did not do a great deal more.

Spiritual: Talking with people who have an idea of what you are going through is always helpful.

June 23, 2017: We had service at a local food pantry which was fun. Then we did some weekly planning which was good as well. Then we went and had a lesson with one of the Hispanic families in the branch which was really interesting and good for me.

Spiritual: Planning your week is always a good idea.

June 24, 2017: We did service at a local thrift store which was rather dull but it was good nonetheless. Aside from that we had a lesson with Toby which was interesting.

Spiritual: Helping people while can be boring is always good in the end.

June 25, 2017: We had church which was great as usual. Following which we went to visit Toby which made up most of the day.

Spiritual: The Sacrament is the most important part of the week.

June 26, 2017: We tried visiting some less actives but had no success. Then after dinner we went and visited Toby before closing the day early due to the early morning Today.

Spiritual: Success is in trying not in always having "success"

June 27, 2017: We woke up early so we could leave at 6:30 to go to the temple. The temple was a great experience as always. Since then we have not done too much.

Spiritual: If the temple is close to you go often so you never have regrets.

Tuesday was National Sunglasses today so I thought it was cool that he sent me pictures of him wearing his sunglasses.

Week 1 Estes Park

With Transfers this week it sure was an interesting week to say the least but it was good nonetheless.

June 13, 2017: We had Transfers which was fun. We drove up and back from the mission office three times which was interesting. After the third time coming up I did not head back to Greeley 5th area but stayed at the mission office until we, being those headed to Longmont left. Getting to Longmont we did some shopping at Walmart before heading up to Estes Park. Arriving in Estes I unpacked which took up the majority of the day.

Spiritual: Change is always good

June 14, 2017: We did additional cleaning at our apartment which was good. Then we had a lesson with a less active named Toby which was good as well but took up much of the Evening.

Spiritual: The Holy Ghost cannot dwell in unclean temples.

June 15, 2017: We did not do a great deal except for studies before dinner with a part member family. That was good. Then we went to a youth sports night which was fun.

Spiritual: Studies can be very beneficial

June 16, 2017: We did service at a food pantry which was fun and took a few hours. Following that we did studies before we had a lesson with Toby which again took most of the night.

Spiritual: Service is always good.

June 17, 2017: We did service at a Thrift store before we did additional service shoveling dirt for an older less active. That was good but took up the majority of the day. Following that we had dinner with a family in the branch which was neat talking to them and getting to know more about the area through them.

Spiritual: Getting to know people can help you better know an area.

June 18, 2017: We helped set up Church before church began. Church meetings were really good and I enjoyed them. Following church we broke it all down before we had dinner with a member of the Branch Presidency who lives almost to Lyons Colorado. Following dinner we had a lesson with Toby which finished off the night.

Spiritual: The ordinance of the Sacrament should be the most important thing that you do each week.

Transfers/ Goodbye Greeley, Hello Estes Park/ Zebra Companionship

This has been an interesting last week of a transfer to say the least. 

June 6, 2017: We were scheduled to go visit and do service for a family in our branch but they never confirmed which meant finding a different type of service which we did at ARC. Aside from that we did a small bit of finding to no success really. We also went and answered some more questions about the priesthood for a recent convert named Carlos which was good.

Spiritual: When life throws curve balls do not be discouraged just try again.

June 7, 2017: We went out to visit some people with Miguel which was really good, though not super successful. Then we did service at the Humane Society which was fun. We had a few contacts with some investigators whom we have since dropped which was also good.

Spiritual: Having members present at lessons makes life easier.

June 8, 2017: We had Zone Conference, which was awesome. Hearing the words of a member of the 70 was awesome and very spiritual. I thought it was beyond amazing.

Spiritual: Listening to the words of church leaders is amazing.

June 9, 2017: Not much took place, we started with doing GRC which was good and fun. Then I had a baptismal interview for one of the Zone Leader's investigators which was neat. Then we drove the Ashcroft Elders around a bit before we did some weekly planning.

Spiritual: Service of any kind is always really good.

June 10, 2017: We had our no drive day which was not the most fun, though it made me grateful to be in a driving mission. We did a lot of service which was good. We then went and visited some potentials with Hermano Cwhich was good but unsuccessful.

Spiritual: Be grateful for what you have because you never know when you won't have it.

June 11, 2017: We got transfer news in the Morning, I am going to Estes Park in the Longmont Zone as part of a Zebra companionship, one English and one Spanish Elder, that will be fun though weird leaving Greeley Zone after nearly a year. Aside from that news we did not do much that is abnormal.

Spiritual: Change is scary but good.

Week 47/41

This Week went by really fast which was odd but kinda nice

May 30, 2017: I was on exchanges with Elder Mc which was really good as it helped me get over the remnants of the irritation I had at him from last transfer. We drove the Ashcroft Elders up to Windsor so they could get a car. Then we spoke with some missionaries of a different faith which was good and interesting. We did some less actives contacting to no real success. In the evening we had a very weird lesson as there were five presences there two unseen. The guy was a Satan worshipper and so it was interesting. Both Elder Mc worry about his eternal salvation if he does not turn from the road he is on.

Spiritual: The Lord's timing is perfect even if it is not our timing.

May 31, 2017: We started with interviews which were really good. Then we had a lesson with an investigator in Windsor who believes we are all perfect and saved no matter what. Once we explained that when we sin we become imperfect without unless we rely on Jesus Christ and his atonement he wanted nothing more to do with us. We then tried some less actives to no real success.

Spiritual: Save through Christ Alone can we be saved.

June 1, 2017: We did service shoveling rock for a member of the Ashcroft Ward which was good, though I got and popped two blisters on my hands which stunk but whatever. Then we had district meeting and obviously me and Elder M are very difficult to place for people on where we are going next transfer but whatever. Then we went and helped to paint a member of the Branch's fence which was fun.

Spiritual: Service is always fun.

June 2, 2017: We helped an investigator with cleaning up at her home which was fun. Then we did weekly planning which was good as usual. 

Spiritual: Helping others shows your love for them.

June 3, 2017: We were drafted into helping set up a wedding reception for a member of the Branch who was getting sealed. That was a lot of fun and we did a lot more than we had been told we were going to be doing. Then we did service at the Humane Society which was also fun. Then we went and helped serve food at the reception and we got to talk with one of the former Spanish Sisters who is related to the family which got sealed. That was a lot of fun.

Spiritual: The gift of service is always a great thing to give others.

June 4, 2017: We had church was great as usual. After Church we had went to pick up the Elder's quorum president but instead got drafted to help set up his daughter's Baby shower which was fun. Then we tried some investigators and dropped them which was alright.

Spiritual: The lord sometimes has a different plan for us then we have for ourselves.
