Week 54/48 Transfer # 9

This week was an interesting one but okay.

July 18, 2017: We did not do all that much sadly for most of the day. In the evening we went out with Brother Fitzpatrick to try some less actives which was not very successful but that was okay.

Spiritual: So long as you try you will gain blessings

July 19, 2017: We had district meeting which was good. Aside from that not much happened.

Spiritual: Being with those with like-minds is a blessing.

July 20, 2017: We did very little, we tried a few less actives but had little success.

Spiritual: The Lord will bless us for trying.

July 21, 2017: We did service at the local food pantry which was good. We also had a lesson with Toby which was not very terrific but it was okay.

Spiritual: Service is always fun.

July 22, 2017: We did service for a member in our branch moving large rocks which caused Elder S to struggle due to forgetting to drink water but luckily I noticed it early enough to get him to drink water. In the evening we got transfer news, Estes is losing all missionaries as now it is being covered by the missionaries in Lyons 30 minutes+ away, I am going down to Longmont to finish Elder H s training, and Elder is going to Casper on bike.

Spiritual: Change is of the Lord even when it is difficult.

July 23, 2017: We had church and said goodbye to most of the Branch, it is weird that they will not have missionaries for the next six weeks but I know it will make the branch so much stronger for it. Then we went to see Toby for the last time which was different. 

Spiritual: The Lord gives us hard times to make us stronger.

July 24, 2017: We are emailing and then going to pack more. Tomorrow we leave bright and early at 6:45 for Longmont which will be good and different.

I asked Joshua if he was sad to leave Estes Park and he said yes, he really enjoyed his transfer their, he was sad to think they will not have missionaries their for a while. The AP's think after this transfer they will get them back.

He will be serving in a ward this up coming transfer which will be different for him since he has been in a branch for the bast 4 transfers. He also will be living with members which will be a new experience for him, one of his former companions mom said that the members in the ward are awesome so that is always great to hear.

Zone Conference

Zone Conference/ I hit my 1 year mark

This past week has been interesting to say the least but not bad.

July 11, 2017: We had Zone Conference which was terrific. It was focused on the importance of the Book of Mormon in conversion which was what I needed. After the conference we had interviews which were great.

Spiritual: The final testimonies of missionaries before they go home are super strong.

July 12, 2017: I hit my year mark which is crazy. We had to do an accident report for damage which was done to our car somehow. That was interesting. Aside from that not too much took place.

Spiritual: Being obedient even when it does not make sense brings blessings 

July 13, 2017: We tried finding less actives but either the address did not exist, they were not there, or they had family which was too bad. After that we had sports night which was more successful than any previous with four youth showing up which made things fun.

Spiritual: While finding is not always fun you always meet plenty of interesting people.

July 14, 2017: We had service at the local food pantry which was fun as always. After that we tried to find more service opportunities but it was for naught.

Spiritual: Service always brings joy.

July 15, 2017: We tried contacting some less actives and referrals to limited success as the one we made contact with speaks Nepali which makes communication nearly impossible.

Spiritual: The language of the spirit is the same for everyone.

July 16, 2017: We had PEC which was good, Church was terrific as always. After church we had dinner with a recent convert visitor which was cool.

Spiritual: The Sacrament is the best part of the week.

July 17, 2017: We are having district P-Day in Lyons which will be good. Playing board and card games is always interesting. Aside from that we do not have too much planned.

Spiritual: Being with those of like mindsets as you always brings strength.

4th of July week

Wow this week has been interesting 

July 4, 2017: We had a branch pancake breakfast which was really good, with a few less actives coming out which was really good. Then we went and helped an older member of our branch moving some furniture which was fun. Then we headed home a bit early to avoid the traffic. Then we were invited to watch the fireworks with a member and his family at their home but President had told us we were to be at our homes by nine so we did not go, to my companion's displeasure.

Spiritual: Obedience is the first law of heaven.

July 5,2017: Not a whole awful lot took place, in the evening we went to visit less actives with Brother F which was really good, not much success but still a good experience.

Spiritual: Having a good leader is always a blessing.

July 6, 2017: We had district meeting which was fun, not too much new or exciting. We had the youth sports night which was good, but only one family showed up, but we still played ultimate Frisbee for a bit which was fun.

Spiritual: The importance of the one should never be forgotten.

July 7, 2017: We did service at the local food bank, then Elder S drove off the side of the road, luckily just into a small ditch so nothing was hurt. Then we did some planning which was alright.

Spiritual: Pay attention to your surroundings and you never know what you may miss if you don't.

July 8, 2017: We had a no drive day which kinda sucked. We did service at the local thrift store which was fun I guess. Then we did additional studies and planning.

Spiritual: Be grateful for your blessings  I asked Joshua why they could not drive and he said his zone has the fewest miles to use in the whole mission apparently since most of it is close together. Him and his companion are about an hour away from his DL which is interesting. He loves Estes Park .

July 9, 2017: We had a three hour meeting before church about both missionary work and then a bit of branch council which was good. Church was really good, the last hour was on self reliance which presentation I saw in my first area.

Spiritual: Missionary work should be central to all the work in the church.

July 10, 2017: Today my companion is going fishing while I will be doing more missionary focused things which will be good I hope, hopefully he does not think we can go fishing all day as I would like to have a P-Day for at least a few hours.

Spiritual: Sacrifice brings blessings.

This past week has been rather slow but it is what it is.

June 28, 2017:  We did not do a great deal, but we had the chance to have dinner with Elder S's cousin which was interesting. Being that he had served in Estes Park about a year ago we were able to get some new insures that we would have not otherwise received.

Spiritual: Talking with those who have walked your path before will give you new insight that can help you a lot.

June 29, 2017: We had district meeting, which the Zone Leaders did not attend, but it was still really good, as we were able to talk about what we learned from recent scripture studies.

Spiritual: The scriptures if read often will bless your life.

June 30, 2017: We had service at the local food bank which was fun. Then we did some weekly planning which was good. 

Spiritual:Service is always a good time 

July 1, 2017: We did service at a local thrift store which was alright. After that Elder St got food poisoning from some bad Orange juice which made the day kinda come to an early close.

Spiritual:Be grateful for your blessings 

July 2, 2017:We had church which was good, it was super packed which made things interesting. But aside from that not much was really new. After church we had a missionary Correlation meeting with the new branch mission leader which was good.

Spiritual:Having someone lead you can help bring you into focus 

July 3, 2017: Today is P-Day so not much is happening which is alright. 

Spiritual: "Days off" just mean you can learn more with the extra time you have.
